BPMcountR Privacy Policy

This document explains how BPMcountR ("the App") processes data.

Summary

• The App does not use analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.

• All data is stored locally on your device.

• The App does not transmit data to the internet.

• No personally identifiable information is collected.

What data is stored locally

The App uses your device's local storage (SharedPreferences) to save:

• Settings: theme, language, haptic feedback, sound, auto-reset timer, display preferences, app mode

• BPM history: timestamped BPM measurements with optional user-provided names and comments (max 30 entries)

• Pro status: whether the Pro upgrade has been purchased (cached from platform store)

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (see below).

Microphone access

The App includes a Listen Mode feature (Pro only) that uses your device's microphone to detect beats in music playing nearby.

• Audio is processed in real time, in memory only — no audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted.

• Microphone access requires your explicit permission and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.

In-app purchases

The App offers a one-time Pro upgrade via your device's platform store (Google Play or App Store).

• All payment processing is handled entirely by the platform store.

• The App does not collect, process, or store any payment or billing information.

Import & export

The App allows you to export your BPM history as a CSV file and import history from CSV or JSON files.

• Export creates a local file shared via your device's native share dialog or saved to your Downloads folder.

• No data is uploaded to any server — the destination is entirely your choice.

Network connections

The App does not make background network requests. The only network activity occurs when:

• Processing an in-app purchase (handled by the platform store, not the App)

• You manually tap the author link to open a website in your browser

Permissions

The App requests only these permissions:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): for Listen Mode beat detection — optional, requested only when you use the feature

• Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): for in-app purchases via Google Play

No other device permissions are requested. The App does not access your contacts, location, camera, photos, or any other personal data.

Cookies / Tracking

The App does not set cookies, use advertising IDs, or perform any tracking.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
